By The Sea

Young children splash, laugh and have fun
In the rock pool in the warm Spring sun
Their parents sunning on the beach nearby
And sea birds do call as they fly
Above where the waves gently lap to the shore
Scenes such as this I've not seen often before
In what is a beautiful October day
Utopia from here cannot be far away
The sooty oystercatchers pleasant flute like song
Once heard one could never get wrong
In near perfect temperatures around twenty degrees
The sea spray in a gentle coastal breeze
Where else would anyone wish to be
On a day like this but by the sea.
