She Was Quite A Beauty

In her fifties she was quite a beauty in her prime long ago
But time that rusts iron has become her foe
Her balance not good she walks with a cane
A faded beauty of memory lane
Kind in her ways and free of conceit
On remembering lost friends her i do meet
One young at heart since she loves to sing
With her gift of song happiness to others she does bring
Cannot say where she lives or anything of her life
Or if she has a partner or is somebody's wife
Recently spoke to her briefly though me she did not seem to know
Apart in our ways from some friends we do grow
Age does come quickly and time ticks away
I hope she is happy in her life today.
