Down The Brown And Dry Paddocks

Down the dry and brown paddocks the creek trickling slow
And on a gray gum tree a dark pale eyed crow
Is cawing in the gloam just after sundown
In the countryside between Warrnambool City and Koroit Town

Though yesterday evening we did have some rain
The creek remains very low and bone dry every drain
The weather is moody and acting quite strange
Could it be that this has to do with climate change

For many years the industrial revolution has been out of control
And on the natural environment has been taking toll
For human progress in global warming the price we do pay
Two days ago it was forty degrees it is sixteen today

Human created pollution is blowing in the breeze
Perhaps one of the reasons for a drop in weather temperatures in two days of twenty four degrees
The sun bronzed paddocks are looking so dry
That us humans do not have a part to play in the weather mood swings only a fool would deny

The water levels dropping in every farm dam and lake
And yesterday's rain any difference did not make
To the brown creek that has not increased in it's flow
Down the brown and dry paddocks it trickles on slow.
