A Warm Day In March

The paddocks are brown and bare looking and dry
And no sign of rain in the blue and gray sky
The creek flowing in a trickle and bone dry every drain
This countryside could do with some heavy rain
Today warm and sunny yesterday cool with a strong breeze
A weather variation in one day of at least ten degrees
The weather for some while has been acting so strange
Perhaps these are symptoms of Climate Change
Yet on this beautiful March day white butterflies dance in the breeze
And the magpies are warbling on the sunlit trees
Yet no rain in the forecast though the land of rain is in need
And the farmers to their sheep and cattle hay now does feed
It is pleasant weather though many pray for rain
The water dams low and bone dry every drain.
