Memories Of Claramore Wood

On evenings in Summer May, June and July
I often climbed to there in years long gone by
Claramore Wood at the foot of Clara Hill
On looking back the Seasons time for me stands still
In the cool of the evening the songbirds did sing
Such joy to the mind happy memories does bring
The past it does seem has followed me far south
Of the fields of the badger and waterways of the brown trout
To this place of  koala, echidna, wallaby and gray kangaroo
And white billed corella and yellow tailed black cockatoo
But in my flights of fancy again i do see
From high Claramore the fields of Knocknagree
And in Claramore Wood on an evening in Spring
As the sun is going down i do hear the birds sing
