Storm Emma And The Beast From The East

Storm Emma from the cold north across the Boggeraghs did blow
And the countryside in North Cork under a blanket of snow
The Beast from the east has brought snow, wind and rain
And brown flood water flowing bank high in every stream, river and drain
A cold change in the weather in the calendar Spring
To the farmers of Ireland financial hardships does bring
For European farmers a poor Spring is on the way
For their livestock running low on silage and hay
The weather temperature below the zero degrees
And the big winds are howling in bare deciduous trees
Storm Emma and The Beast from the east combine to bring hardship and stress
And will leave in their wake only unhappiness
The Beast from the east brings frost, snow wind and rain
But in the age of climate change expect this for to happen again.
