What We Do To Our Earth Mother

What's life about one has to ask since we are born to die
Immortality for the good souls post bodily death may be based on a lie
People for their gene survival help to create life in this overpopulated Human World of today
To compete for jobs and material success does life have to be this way?

In the big town on the wide streets cars and trucks buzzing to and fro
To the Earth that does feed us human inventions have become a foe
Carbon emissions and environmental pollution increasing by the day
For jobs and more jobs it does  seem the natural environment has to pay

All in the name of progress it should not be a source for joy
That our Earth Mother who feeds us we are trying to destroy
But we shall not destroy Mother Earth though to do so we do strive
It is our own selves we will destroy Earth Mother will survive

For jobs, success and material wealth us humans do compete
And all day long cars, trucks and buses buzz up and down the street
Us humans from the horse and cart have come quite a long way
But for this for future generations of human beings there will be some price to pay

To human progress many species of wildlife have been lost
And the achievements of our kind does not come without cost
What we do to our Earth Mother to our own selves we do
And this applies to everyone as well as me and you.
