My Past Has Followed Me

My past has followed me from a Land far away
But we can only live in the now and the now is today
The sun shining bright in a sky of blue and gray
And the weather quite pleasant for late Autumn and May
The tiny breeding frogs singing in every pond and drain
And the landscape looking green after the recent rain
On a day like today so great to be alive
Such beautiful weather for to go for a drive
The melodious warbling so pleasant for to hear
Of the magpies who sing every day of the year
And though the past has followed me from a place far away
The now is all that does matter as the wise one does say
How lovely to hear the song of the pee wee
And Nature at her finest everywhere around me.
