It Has Always Been This Way

For any woman or for any man
A century of years is quite a long life span
It is way above the human life average of three score and ten
And women by a few years known to outlive men
Yet some human beings are not granted much time
Some die in their childhood and some die in their prime
The years go by quickly and time ticks on fast
And all we have left are memories of the past
Of a life after death of a heaven or hell
There is no concrete proof as anyone has not come back to tell
Though some firmly believe the soul has wings to fly
To the world of their god far beyond the clouds of the sky
I only know that millions of people are born and die every day
This is how it is and it has always been this way.
