Humble People Are Rare

I have not met many of the humble of late
In the twenty first century humility does seem out of date
Self promotion nowadays it does seem the in thing
So many only too happy their own praises to sing
And so many find delight in telling you of how great they are
For to meet their sort one does not need to walk far
Humble people are rare in the Human World of today
And this in itself does seem a sad thing to say
Though self praise it is no praise in the words of the wise
In a World where success is seen as most important this is not a surprise
In those the adoring masses celebrate
Big egos are never that hard to inflate
A down to earth person i seldom do meet
In the Human World no shortage of self conceit.
