In the early years of the twenty first century intolerance is rife
And mistrust and dislike getting stronger by the day
Against the refugees of famines and wars
And this seems a sad thing for one for to say
On the homeless the Stateless and those in dire poverty
Extreme Nationalism and Patriotism on them taking toll
Their friends sad to say are too few
In a World where racism is out of control
And so many are becoming more poor
In the widening gap of the social divide
And no such a thing as a fair go for all
In a World where many of a fair go are denied
For to be a victim of famine and war
Should never be seen as a crime
Yet many refugees on their search for a better life
Are in detention centers serving time
The kind and compassionate are becoming rare
At a time when the Human World of them is badly in need
And that intolerance is almost Worldwide and rife
Is a sad reflection on humanity indeed.
