His better days in life to the forever gone
But he is a survivor he keeps on keeping on
With the battle of life he's seven times a grand dad
He will tell you his hardest times were not so bad
Last year for him the hardest year of his life
To cancer he lost his dear soulmate his wife
She suffered for months her end painful and slow
Of heartache and sorrow he is one who know
He feels happy in one way that she is at peace
That from suffering death for her a welcome release
Life can be a battle he is known to say
But one can only hope for a better day
In his early seventies one must go back in time
To the nineteen sixties when he was in his prime.
