In fancy I can hear a silver back crow
Cawing on a tall beech tree where the Blackwater flow
In fields of Duhallow on a Summer's day
To the distant Atlantic babbling on it's way
Where I grew to love Nature when I was a boy
The good memories of what were are mine to enjoy
Yes the pleasant memories are mine to recall
The cock pheasant crew where the rushes grew tall
And the skylark a musical speck in the sky
The little brown bird that to sing to the clouds fly
From Life and Nature we never stop learning as some like to say
And I am still learning from Nature today
Here in the great Land of the wombat and roo
And emu, koala and dark brown weerloo.
