The Song Of The Pee Wee

A wintery, showery and blustery day
The sky overcast and looking quite gray
The sun in cloud cover is hidden away
But the pee wee does sing in the park by the bay
The double pee wee notes familiar to hear
Of the bird who does  sing every day of the year
His  kind lives in parks of every Australian village and city and town
Mudnesters their distinctive call notes their claim to bird renown
Birds one regularly hear and regularly see
They build a mud nest on fork of branch of tree
In Australia the pee wees or magpie larks are widely known
One can say of  them they have ways of  their own
No matter what the weather every day of the year
The song of  the pee wee one is sure  to hear.
