North of the Moyne Shire in distance far away
In Duhallow i first looked on the lamp of day
And from a young boy grew into a man
But who knows where i will live out my life span
On looking back the years to Seasons long past
One comes to realize that time ticks on fast
Some i went to school with where the deceased are now lay
On how long we live Life's Reaper has the say
We learn as we live and life's lessons are not few
And this is not saying anything that is new
For our every mistake there is some price to pay
This is how life works it is always this way
That we learn as we live is not a lie
And we never stop learning until the day we do die
And the more we do learn the more we realize
That we do know so little this not a surprise
Of the fields of the badger and the waterways of the brown trout
My life's destiny has me ageing far south
In the Moyne Shire of Victoria time has left me gray
One who surely has known of a far better day.
