In the smoke from the bushfires burning far away
The sun it it is hidden in smog clouds of grey
The air is unhealthy to breathe in and so dry
From smoke that has travelled hundreds of kilometers by sky
For Global Warming unclean air one price we do pay
Far north of here the bushfires have been burning for many a day
Blown by the wind the smoke has reached the far south
Of our price for human created carbon emissions there can be little doubt
The side affects of the fires that have caused so much damage has spread far and wide
In a pall of grey smoke above the southern countryside
We do need a few hours of storm to blow the smoke away
From above the coastal lands out to the ocean beyond the bay
The air is unclean though the weather is dry and fine
And through the greyness of the smoke the sun does not shine.
