By Stingray Bay

A Sunday evening in June by Stingray Bay
On what is a chilly and Wintery day
The sun it is hidden behind clouds of gray
Though weatherwise dry quite Seasonal of it one can say
On the kelp and seaweed on the beach starlings and silver gulls eating sea lice washed in by the tide
Though some of the insects from the probing beaks find places to hide
Lots of food for coastal birds where the land and sea meet
Just three minutes by car from Banyan Street
On the concrete path by the foreshore people cycle and run and jog
And some walk in pairs or in groups or walk alone with their dog
Whilst some sit in their cars enjoying the sea view
Of Nature every day one does learn something new
Nobody out fishing on a chilly Winter's day
Some have their boats moored on the deep waters of Stingray Bay.
