Yet she spoke out for people deprived of their human rights and for a fair go for all
And in those who speak for the oppressed there is nothing small
Is it only extreme and racist nationalists who bother to write
Their biased opinions on every political web site
Gillian Triggs does speak on behalf of the marginalized and oppressed
And those who believe on a fair go for all with her can only feel impressed
Those who verbally attack people like Gillian Triggs must feel it is quite okay
To know that the marginalized and stateless are treated in such a shameful way
Refugees in Australian run offshore detention centers are serving prison time
Yet to want a better and a safer life is their only crime
And Gillian Triggs who in her words is their friend
A lot of right wing opinionated people does seem to offend.
