Her legs that once did move so fast
In her prime years of the past
Have long lost their youthful spring
Age can be a humbling thing
Against the best she did compete
When she was a champion athlete
But time on the best of them does show
And it has left her walking slow
The best athlete in the town
When her hair was natural brown
Tall and lean and beautiful on her prime day
In brown hair dye she cloaks her gray
Her husband left her for one younger fifteen years ago
That some males prefer younger females happens to be so
In her late seventies her best in the now long gone
Though memories of the past in her live on
Ten times a grandmother going back in time
A champion athlete in her prime
The years on her body does show
And time has left her walking slow.
