Does not know if he is a father only know he has a wife
Polish John has lived in Warrnambool for more than six decades of his life
Quite a likeable old fellow and wise and clever as well
Of his younger years in war torn Poland he has many sad stories to tell
Though wrong things to his Country and to him and his family were done
Polish John holds no grudges against any Country or against anyone
And though he never did spend that many years in school
He is one of the most intelligent and wisest people in Warrnambool
Polish John will tell you that people to each other can be cruel
In the nineteen forties he left Poland for to escape Russian rule
Though his Homeland he never again was to see
He feels happy that Poland today is independent and free
He must be close to if not ninety for his age a healthy man
More than eight decades of memories Polish John does span
A slight trace of the accent he was born into with him does remain
Of his past along with the war memories of Poland is all he does retain
For one of his years his memory is great
Used to see him more often in the past than i do of late
Though i did see him last week walking on Liebig Street
He is one i do always feel happy to meet.
