The Boggeraghs In July
On the Boggeragh Ranges from here far away
When the high meadows scent sweetly of hay
The tiny blue whortleberries the fruits of the heather are ripe for to eat
In the taste buds of the mouth a memorable treat
The tough uphill climb to eat whortleberries worthwhile on a day in July
When the sun is shining in the blue and grey sky
And the mottled brown skylarks of human kind shy
Are singing as up towards the cloud World they fly
And such beautiful views from the higher ground
Of the green countryside for kilometres around
Marvellous scenic views a lifetime to stay
To live in the memory of a nice Summer's day
And the blue whortleberries delicious to eat
In the taste buds of the mouth a memorable treat.
