One of those doing it tough on your side of the town
Still hope in your mind is far from dead
And you can see better days of you ahead
Down on your luck but with hope you keep faith
Everything does come to those who does wait
On poor take home pay struggling to support your partner and family
Though working hard you know of poverty
A home mortgage and household bills for you to pay
And at work for you never an easy day
For a better paying job you often apply
Though without any luck you do not cease to try
You are not one to say life is unfair
Or surrender your mind to the thought of despair.
