They have been trapped and been poisoned for decades of years
And they have reduced grain growing farmers to tears
And some farmers due to financial losses because of them have died
Surrendering their lives in the act of suicide
In the countryside and rural towns houses they invade
And of food and clothing by them a mess is often made
Their praises by anyone is never sung
But their secret of survival is they give birth to lots of young
Cats and dogs cannot control them every year their numbers are on the rise
Any story of the damage they can create is no longer a surprise
For such tiny creatures they are quick to multiply
And that they are Nature's survivors of them none can deny
You will not hear many say anything nice
Of these tiniest of rodents that are known as mice.
