They like to be praised and admired for their successful lives
But they do not wish for admirers for their partners or wives
Since they can be possessive in their narrow way
And on what is to be admired about them like to have the say
The wealthy man guards his possessions in life
He does not welcome admirers of his partner or wife
They are his prize trophies for him to display
And admiring glances from others for them with him never okay
The wealthy their admirers like to impress
And they like to be praised for their every success
But for their women they do not welcome any admiring eyes
To jealousy in them this only gives rise
For their many successes praise they do desire
But their women for them alone for to admire.

When They Were Living
When they were living for their wealth they were admired
And just to be like them many they inspired
But nobody wants to be like them today
There is no social status where dead people lay
We are born to die like the sheep or the cow
The town's poorest living person is superior to them now
Everyone is equal where dead people lay
Money is of no value to them today
In life they had friends and were not without foes
This is how it is with most wealthy people one has to suppose
Their journeys in life for them has come to an end
Where they are today they do not need a friend
The Reaper of lives did come reaping their way
On how long they lived they did not have a say.
And just to be like them many they inspired

Self Doubt
Self confidence deflating this thing known as self doubt
Of any sort of success it seems to count you out
It tells you that you cannot win though your best you may do
And makes you believe that all others are superior to you
This thing that is known as self doubt will never be your friend
Though you may argue with it your argument you will lose in the end
Against it's sheer persuasiveness you do not have a defense
For to think you can defeat it you should have better sense
This thing that is know as self doubt to your feelings is a thief
It never fails to steal from you your self confidence and self belief
It makes you believe you are inferior to everyone in the town
And it never comes to your aid when you are feeling down
Of the feeling you are not good enough in your mind it plants the seed
And it never comes to your assistance in your moments of need.

Bumsy The Cat
Do not know if she ever killed a bird or a mouse or a rat
But she lived to a great age old Bumsy the cat
Eventually her owner Jenny White had to have her put down
To be Australia's oldest feline her claim to renown
There will never again be a cat like Bumsy in the countryside near Koroit Town
Eventually Jenny had to have her put down
As she had grown very feeble though to life she did cling
On Jenny for to have her put to sleep must be such a hard thing
The passing of Bumsy must have left Jenny in tears
As they had been together for close to thirty years
As cats go she lived for to be very old
And surely her story deserves to be told
Bumsy had lived in Southern Cross for quite a long time
For more than twenty years she outlived her physical prime
For this alone her praises deserves to be sung
Some cats like some humans are born not to die young
But the fact of the matter and fact never lie
Is that cats like people are born to eventually die
And the story of Bumsy has traveled far and wide
Beyond the borders of the Moyne Shire countryside.

The Members Of The Admirers Club
If you wish to meet members of the admirers club
You do not need to go further than your local pub
Where of those they admire they leave none in doubt
They have their heroines and heroes for to talk about
But none they admire do know of poverty
Those they look up to of any monetary worries are free
The members of the admirers club big egos help to create
But it is only the wealthy and famous to they can relate
The members of the admirers club need their few to admire
And of singing the praises of their favorite people they never seem to tire
Yet those they admire live far from their street
They are people they have never spoken to or never may meet
For the egotistical and wealthy minority who wallow in their fame
The members of the admirers club are partly to blame
Since it is only the praises of the wealthy and famous of they wish to sing
And too much praise for the ego is not a good thing
For to meet meet members of the admirers club you need not travel far
There are plenty of them in your local public bar
But their heroines and heroes are not the poor of the town
The people who are strangers to wealth and renown.

Of The Book Of Life
It can be said of life's lessons they are not of the few
And as we live every day we do learn something new
And the more we do learn more we realize
That we do know so little this not a surprise
The words of a wise woman well worthy of recall
That the unpublished book of life is the greatest book of all
Far greater than any literary work any human create
Than the book of life no published book is near as great
From the book of life we learn new things every day
We never stop learning life works in this way
Yes we never stop learning until the day we do die
A fact of our existence and fact never lie
Those who think they know it all must feel quite lucky indeed
Since of any more knowledge they are not of in need.

On An October Night
As the moon is rising in the darkening sky
A boobook owl calls in the woodland nearby
A predator of the night of human kind shy
To small birds and small creatures it has death in it's cry
With cubs to feed in her den not far away
The vixen is barking out hunting for prey
One seldom seen out in the light of day
Where in the safety of her den she is happy to stay
On silent wings in the dim moonlight
The pale looking barn owl the rodent hunter of the night
Blessed of good hunting skills her and her breed
In hollow log nearby she has young to feed
The nocturnal creatures hunt in the moonlight
In the southern Spring on an October night.
