He Did Achieve His Dreams

He did achieve his dreams of great wealth and fame
And far beyond his hometown his became a known name
But like many who have achieved in life the dreams they did pursue
His dreams did not bring him happiness when for him they came true
Wealth and fame can win you friends he came to realize
But in retrospect it is easy to be wise
Your accumulated wealth others may well impress
And though money may buy you many things it cannot buy you happiness
With a son and three lovely young daughters and a beautiful wife
Things one would think were going well for him in life
But money from him could not keep unhappiness away
And he only did grow sadder by the day
A year ago his own end he did decide
He drowned in the sea a victim of suicide.

No Business Of Mine

Since this is their business  this suits me fine
For what is their business is no business of mine
The favourable opinions of the judgmental i do not desire
Good luck to the people that they do admire
Between the value of people they only differentiate
And big egos in the World they does create
I am one of those people who enjoy penning rhyme
It is something i have been doing over decades of time
Without the staus of any money for doing it as pay
My sort verbal fodder for the judgmental in this judgmental World of today
The Human World with their sort could well do without
Since change for the betterment of humanity they never bring about
And what they think or say of me does suit me quite fine
For what is their business is no business of mine.

The Greatest Of Beauty

The greatest of beauty i do not pay to see
Everyday it is everywhere all around me
The beauty grown by Earth Mother that Nature helps to create
A beauty that lovers of things natural celebrate
The beauty in Nature to view and hear is free
A wildborn songbird singing on a sunlit tree
Nature her beauty with everyone share
Anything human made with it cannot compare
Her wonders are many and her secrets not few
And every day of her we learn something new
The artists and writers she does inspire
And of singing her praises it does seem hard to tire
Her besuty is all around us every day
It is something for to view we do not have for to pay.

On The Judas Sheep

In every abbatoir they have a judas sheep
For her right to life she must work to earn her keep
By leading her kindred up the slaughter ramp to their deaths every day
Unbeknown to herself them she does betray

For saving the slaughter house workers work effort and time
She will be alllowed to outlive her physical prime
Her ticket to life is she was born to lead
Of heroic sheep stories one never does read

The poor judas sheep she does not realize
That doing what comes natural to her to betrayal of her kindred gives rise
Her leadership role in life the only reason she remains alive
Whilst her followers not one of them ever survive

For our own gain us humans animals manipulate
The followers of the judas sheep end up on a dinner plate
For her natural leadership role a pardon from death she receive
But unbeknown to herself her own kind every day she deceive

Named after Judas Iscariot who betrayed Jesus centuries ago
But that the judas sheep is an innocent creature happens to be so
She is only doing to her what does come naturally
And of any sense of guilt she is one who is free.

Joe

On his last birthday Joe turned ninety three
Old enough to be my dad and much healthier and fitter than me
The hair on his balding head may be silver gray
But he jogs five or six kilometres every day
Twelve years ago his wife Linda passed away
He is twenty times a great grand-dad quite a lot of descendants as one might say
He began jogging seventy years ago before his physical prime
And this is going back many Seasons in time
One who has never taken part in a competitive race
He says i just like to jog along at my own pace
He does not smoke cigarettes or drink alcohol and is a vegetarian by choice
For clean and healthy living he is one who is a voice
Quite a likeable fellow of him one can say
He turned ninety three on his last birthday.

For The Sake Of Your Dependents

The lady of luck is not smiling your way
For you it has been quite a miserable day
Your boss has knocked back your request for a raise in pay
And though you would like to quit in this job you must stay
Many are unemployed and job vacancies are few
That it is an employers job market is not saying what is new
But with a wife and two young daughters financially depending on you
To stay in this job is the best you can do
For the sake of your daughters and their mother your wife
To you the most important people in your life
You will stay in this job though the weekly pay is small
Even a poorly paid job is better than no job at all
Though your greedy boss is a user and known as not good to pay
For the sake of your dependents in this job you will stay.

The Silent One

A group of loud talkers in a bragging display
Trying to outboast each other their tongues wagging away
Of their latest achievements and success of the day
With just one amongst them with nothing to say

The silent one did not partake in adding to the din
He just sat there in silence taking in
The competitive bragging to him boring to hear
That he was not impressed with their waffling by his body language seemed clear

Not his sort of party he seemed out of place
And of any emotion he did not show a trace
For to join in the babble he did not have the will
As is said of quiet waters they are deep and still

Of any party his sort not the life
But since the host of the evening is a good friend of his wife
To be a rude person he is one not known
And he came with his wife since she would not come on her own

The silent one where the babble was loud
Not the one to add to the volume of the crowd
Silence is golden as a truism remain
The meaning in this it's own self does explain.
