The Ego Busters

 It is true that the taller poppies of the town

Are those that are most likely to be verbally put down

By the local cynics ego busters by name

Who feel no admiration for those of wealth and fame

The poor fringe dwellers of the town their friends are in the few

But that their enemies are even fewer is not saying anything that is new

One reason for this is that they are not in the news any day

For being wealthy and famous always some price to pay

There are some in the town who like deflating big egos down to size

That they do need deflating they have come to realize

Not everyone the wealthy and famous feel the need to admire

And to be like them in any way feel the desire

The poor fringe dwellers of the town than the wealthy and famous have less friends and less foes

Humanity works in this way one does have to suppose

But not everyone the admired few do celebrate

And big egos do try their best for to deflate.
