The Pain Others Feel

You may have empathy and compassion but don't get me wrong
The pain others feel to them only belong
You may have it in you with the suffering of others to empathize
And in your genuine compassion with them sympathize
But despite your best efforts you coul not understand
The pain one does feel from their broken leg or broken hand
That every individual's tolerance to pain is different is widely known
In pain and suffering suppose it is each to their own
Every individual different when it comes to dealing with pain
Some moan in agony and some never complain
Mental and physical pain are different as night is from day
And pain effects everyone in a different sort of a way
And though you may be caring and compassionate don't get me wrong
The pain others feel to them only belong.

On A September Evening

On a September evening in the early Spring
On  high branch of a young tree a male blackbird does sing
A familiar songster of the Spring of the year
His distinctive melody pleasant to hear
His partner neaby sits in her cup shaped nest
Warming to life her eggs beneath her breast
In the undulating countryside by the rural town
The sky looking grey just before sundown
It was warm and sunny in the earlier part of the day
But in the drop in weather temperature it looks like rain is on the way
In Spring so much natural beauty in Nature to be seen
After the recent rain the countryside looking green
The sun behind grey clouds is hidden away
Near the end of what has been a pleasant Spring day.

What The Future Holds

What the future holds for you not for you to see
And you cannot change in life what you were meant to be
On that we do have our choices many agree
But you cannot alter your life's destiny
So few ever live to see their life's dream come true
And many will tell you from life you only receive your due
But talk of destiny to them they laugh and they say
In any human life desstiny has no part to play
That we make our own luck in life they do insist
And eventually success comes to those who persist
They tell you they win those who success does choose
That those without self belief are those who lose
But i am one who believes in human destiny
And we cannot alter for us what is meant to be.

Far South Of Claraghatlea

Far south of Claraghatlea west of Millstreet Town
The roadways of life i have been up and down
Like many other migrants from my birthplace ageing far
From where i live today i could not reach Duhallow by car
On my flights of fancy i often visit Millstreet
And walk in the fields to where the waterways meet
When the hawthorns are cloaked in their white blooms of the May
The beautiful memories are with me today
Though we all have our own dreams for to pursue
It is said we receive from life what is only our due
Though i know many good people who work hard for their pay
And material success from them seems far away
Far south of Claraghatlea where my life's journey began
I may be one more migrant to live out my time span.

Of Any More

Of any more who only care for themselves humanity is not in need
Narcissism is closely linked to human greed
Far too many materially very wealthy people with those doing it tough unwilling to share
Though so many admire the multi millionaire

It is not what you do for yourself  but what for others you do
Which says is the sort of person that is you
Those who serve their own needs only in the World are not rare
This is something that most people of are aware

Far too many people seem obsessed with the me
There should be more to human life than living only for the self would you not agree?
There are many good people who perform good deeds every day
And to help others do often go out of their way

The wealthy and influential so many admire
And of singing their praises never seem to tire
But those who only care about self from their higher selves further away
Than those who perform good deeds every day.

A September Morning

On this beautiful and sunny September morning  how great to be healthy and alive
To go for a walk or a cycle or drive
A weather forecast high for the day of a pleasant twenty degrees
And Nature's nesting birds singing on the bushes and trees

Nature at her finest she is to be seen
After the recent rain the countryside looking green
The swallows chasing flying insects chirping as they fly
With the sun on their dark wings in the blue sky

White butterflies flitting in the gentle breeze a beautiful sight to behold
Without much time to live in a day they grow old
The contented cattle on nutritious young grass gaining weight by the day
Chewing their cuds in the morning sunshine do lay

In the mostly sunny blue sky just a few clouds of grey
In the mid morning of a beautiful day
A beautiful day to be healthy and alive
To go for a walk or a cycle or a leisurely drive.

It Is Only The Fear Of Death

It is only stating what is obviously clear
That it is only the fear of death people do fear
But death as part of life is a natural thing
Though of it's praises you never do hear many sing
A fact of our human existence and fact never lie
Is that we were born into life to eventually die
As well as humans death claims all creatures from the great to the small
All flora and fauna it does claim the life from them all
Between the wealthy and poorest death does not differentiate
It will pay you too a visit on some future date
Every day people are born and dying Worldwide
From the one who claims all lives there is nowhere to hide
But it is only the fear of death people do fear
And this is only stating what is obviously clear.
