In the Moyne Shire on the warmest day of the year
The warbling of a magpie so pleasant to hear
A weather temperature high for the day of forty degrees
And warmth in the sunshine and warmth in the breeze
Between Warrnambool City and old Koroit Town
The countryside looking so dry and so brown
With the sun on their wings chirping as they fly
The dark swallows chase flying insects in the sky
In the park children's playground no children at play
For them it is an out of the weather day
Such high temperatures not suitable for outdoor fun
It is not a good day to be out in the sun
The farm dams low in water and bone dry every drain
And the dry countryside it is crying out for rain
In soaring and dipping temperatures the weather acting strange
Suppose much of this surely involves climate change
The weather temperatures soaring to forty degrees
And the warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
And gray moths and white butterflies seemingly dance in the breeze
Around the bushes and the sunlit trees.
