What A Shame This Would Be

The cricket fans and cricketers of Port Fairy of late hopping mad
Long billed corellas digging holes in the sports oval which leaves many feeling sad
With the Moyne Shire Council Members the Moyne Shire cricket boards their political levers pull
In their trying for to organize a long billed corella cull
Long billed corellas were in what is now south west victoria thousands of years before cricket and cricketers from England arrived
And many droughts and bad Seasons these white parrots have survived
There may be large flocks of them but their overall range it is small
And in fact as a species of birds they are not that plentiful at all
That their restricted range makes them vulnerable as a species there can be little doubt
One bad bird virus would wipe long billed corellas out
The cricket fans and cricket players on the Moyne Shire councillors waiting on the okay
For to authorize a corella cull and this could come at any day
And if this happens what a terrible shame this would be
Wildlife extinction has a strong link to human history.
