The birds known to many as yellow tail black cockatoos
Birds in their range one hear and see often though not every day
Their voices to their whereabouts a give away
Once familiarized with to recognize them one never again does fail
Very large dark brown parrots with yellow feathers on their tail
High on trunk of tree in a cavity one or two pale eggs the female lay
Though only one nestling survives to adulthood those who know of them say
On slow heavy wing beats they call as they fly
Wee yu wee yu to each other they cry
In mostly family groups or small flocks them one does see
They mostly eat seeds of the hakea nuts or seed of the cones of the pine tree
Quite attractive to look at of them one can say
They are birds i see and hear often though not every day.
