The Londoner has London and the Roman has Rome
And the Parisian has Paris and the New Yorker has New York
And as for me it is Millstreet in the County of Cork
Though i have not been back there for decades of years
And for the what used to be i have shed my last tears
The accent of Duhallow is with me today
And for as long as i do live with me it will stay
There i grew to love reading rhymes as a young boy
And writing them nowadays is a thing i enjoy
Just for the love of doing it without hope of pay
Old habits die hard only true for to say
And though they may have left there many decades ago
That every migrant has a first home happens to be so.
