It Is Circumstance Of Birth

It is circumstance of birth decide for us our hometown
And like all others for me there will be a last sundown
But i often think of the fields where the waterways meet
In the green countryside by the Town of Millstreet

I left Claraghatlea many Seasons ago
And since time that ages all life has become my foe
I have not seen old Ireland for thirty five years
And for what used to be i have shed my last tears

I have learned more from life than i have learned in school
Far north of this countryside by Warrnambool
Everyday of life i do learn something new
Her lessons to say the least not of the few

I would be a stranger to many in Duhallow today
And some who know or know of me there would not have nice things to say
Since of Nature and her flora and fauna i rhyme in defense
And to some this does seem to cause some offense

Some by my rhymes offended i hear through the grapevine
But they are entitled to their opinions and this suits me fine
In rhyme on anyone i never mount a personal attack
And because of their opinions on anyone i never turn my back

In the twenty first century humanity is becoming more tribal Worldwide
And some people become quite offended if you are not on their side
But i am one of the non tribal and do things in my own way
And if some do not like me for my opinions this too with me  is okay

People are people one has to suppose
And few do go hrough  life without making some foes
And though memories of what was in me does remain
I may never climb on old Clara again.
