In February In Mushera

From the overnight frost the high fields looking gray
And in the farmyard sheds the cattle are bellowing for silage or hay
The weather temperature just above zero degrees
And the hungry rooks cawing on bare deciduous trees
The songs of the birds one never does hear
In February in Mushera a cold and wet time of year
On the narrow and steep Butter Road above Millstreet Town
Few cars and trucks do pass up and down
Since in Spring and Summer far more natural beauty to see
Few tourists visit Ireland in February
When the fields by the mountain wear their Nature's flowers
That have come to bloom in the mild Spring showers
The high countryside looking lush and green
And in Mushera at her finest natural beauty to be seen.
