It does seem like time is becoming his foe
The young man of the fifties gray haired balding Joe
In September 1957 he kicked the winning goal on Grand Final Day
In victory for him such a mighty hooray
In October he will celebrate his birthday eighty three
He clearly is not the man he used to be
Ten times a grandfather divorced by his wife
Ten years ago she re-married but then such is life
Eventually time on us all it does show
He is showing his age he does walk stiff and slow
The memories of his better years fading to time
It has been awhile since he was in his prime
One never found to be wanting when put to the test
A champion footballer when he was at his best
But he is not the man he was decades ago
Time has left it's mark on gray haired balding Joe.
