A rather wise ageing woman once said to me
There is such a thing as mental poverty
You are poor in your thoughts if you believe you are doing it tough
Though materially and financially to live you have more than enough
There are some wealthy people in every town
Who in their thinking are financially down
They have convinced themselves they are poor and this they are mentally
And of their poverty thinking they will never be free
Suppose humanity is comprised of every kind
Their sort of poverty is poverty of mind
Though they will never be homeless or go without a meal
Their poverty to them is so very real
So much wisdom in what the ageing woman did say
Though financially wealthy those mentally who believe they are poor are poor in their own way.
