Long before the first people to the Land now known as Ireland came
And long before Duhallow and Sliabh Luachra were given a name
The ranges now known as the Boggeraghs that affords climbers of views far and wide
Stood as they do today above the green countryside
Today they inspire to write of them the writers of song, story and rhyme
The pre historic mountains that are so old in time
Long before the arrival of the dinosaurs they were very old
And their true history of in writing will never be told
Above the slopes of the Boggeraghs in early to late July
The skylarks do sing in the Summer sky
The tiny blue fruits of the heather the whortleberries are ripe for to eat
In the taste buds of the mouth a delicious treat
And though the Seasons may come and the Seasons may go
Time to the Boggeraghs is never a foe.
