I Thought i Left The Boggeragh Ranges

I thoughtv of the past that time would set me free
I left the Boggeragh Ranges but they did not leave me
Mushera, Caherbarnagh, Clara and Kippagh live in my memory
In my visualizing them i often does  see

In thought i visit Gortavehy and it's face of stone
And drive on Cladoch Valley road to the Paps of  Shrone
And from the heights of Toorbonia i see far and wide
Across Duhallow and Sliabh Luachra's green old countryside

The man leaves the mountains but the mountains in him does stay
The Boggeragh Ranges are in me today
The hills near where i lived as a boy and in my life's prime
In my memory have survived the Seasons of time

The old hills in the Land once known as Hibernia were thousands of centuries old when the first people arrived
And the great changes that time brings they have survived
If i did tell you different this would be a lie
They will be living in me until the day i do die.
