I am one of those who enjoy writing rhyme
I have been doing it now for more than four decades of time
But never try to refer to myself as a poet
Since i do not feel worthy of literary note
It is rather simple the stuff i does write
That i email to be published on a literary site
That anybody can write rhyme is not saying what is new
Rhymers are many and poets are few
And though writers are many few make the grade
Though everyone is needed in the Wordsmith trade
In writing as in all things for one to win many must lose
Though losing is a thing anyone does not choose
If i did not enjoy doing it i would give it away
So i hope to be rhyming on my life's final day.
