January The First Twenty Nineteen

Quite sunny and warm for the first day of the New Year
The flute like songs of the magpies so pleasant to hear
With the sun on their wings in the gentle breeze
Brown butterflies flitting from bushes to trees
On this first day of January in the sunny far south
Young birds are chirping as they fly about
In the mostly blue sky just a few clouds of gray
And a pleasant twenty four degrees weather forecast high for the day
Another New Year in it's infancy
The countryside in it's green and brown of January
With such beautiful weather seems hard to complain
Though some farmers and gardeners are hoping for rain
Cattle are chewing their cuds in the shade of the trees
And in the warm air the buzzing of bush flies and bees.
