Illowa In January

The freshening breeze blowing uphill from Gorman's Bay
Carries in it the sweet scent of freshly baled hay
The sun shining bright in the sky blue and gray
In Illowa it is a beautiful day
Though the brown and dry paddocks could do with some rain
With such a nice evening it seems hard to complain
The warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
And white butterflies seemingly dance in the breeze
Contented cattle lay chewing their cuds in the shade of the trees
On a pleasant weather temperature high for the day of twenty two degrees
In Illowa of the Moyne Shire in January in the Summer's prime
A place very old even in the Dreamtime
Earthly Utopia it cannot be too far away
From Illowa on this nice January day.
