The evening is warm close to thirty degrees
With only the slightest of a southerly breeze
The warbling songs of the magpies familiar to hear
On the very first day of another new year
In Nature there is many a beautiful sight
White butterflies dancing in the warm sunlight
They breed and in a few days do grow old and die
And go back to Nature as you will and i
In Nature as ever so much beauty to be seen
On this first day in January two thousand and eighteen
The distinctive songs of the pee wees so pleasant to hear
One does hear them sing every day of the year
In this beautiful place in this Land of the south
Never a shortage of things for to write rhymes about.
