There are bright sunny days even when Winter is about
In Australia the beautiful Land of the south
For the holidaying tourist so much for to see
In the home of pittosporum and wattle and eucalypt tree
The Land of koala, wallaby, wombat and roo
And many species of parrots including cockatoo
And emu and cassowary big birds that cannot fly
And hawks, falcons and harriers and eagles including the wedge tailed the monarch of the southern sky
And small birds such as fly catchers, honeyeaters, pardalotes and thornbills with ways of their own
And the blue winged and laughing kookaburras as Australians well known
And species of frogmouths and nightgars and owls the hunters of the night
That by day rest in dark places out of the sunlight
And pittas, bowerbirds and gray and pied and black currawong
And the superb lyrebird in the bird World the greatest mimic of song
Human sounds and chainsaws and the birds of their neighborhood they imitate
There is so much in Australia for one to celebrate
Possums, gliders, bandicoots, pademelons quolls, numbats and tasmanian devils creatures nowhere else to be seen
You are missing out on so much if to Australia you have never been
The Land of an old race of people the inspiration of song, story and rhyme
The descendants of the legends of the dreaming time
Than beautiful coastal cities and beaches to Australia there is far more
In the variable scenery far inland from the ocean shore
In the flat and dry country wide open and brown
As you drive on the highway from country town to town
Australia from State to State of varying climatic degrees
In the high woodlands of the south east the mountain ash among the World's tallest trees
In this vast and amazing beautiful Land of the south
There is so much to see and for to talk about.
