Old Jimmy

Of the struggles of life he is one who has known
All old Jimmy asks of life is a home of his own
He lives in a cheap one bedroom apartment that in Winter is cold
Not comfortable to live in for one who is growing old

In a car crash in her early thirties he lost Kate his wife
She was the only true love of his life
She was pregnant with their to be first baby who with her did die
That bad things sometimes happen to good people is not a lie

A roof tiler in his early forties he was badly injured when off of a roof he did fall
It seems that luck it is not on his side at all
One can say he is not one of the luckiest of men
He has been on a disability pension since then

Jimmy never remarried as single he did stay
True love it did never again come his way
By bad luck of love and happiness he was denied
And time it is no longer on his side

In his late seventies he walks with a cane's assistance his health on the fail
The hard life on him showing he looks old and frail
Of the good times and bad times in life he has known
And all he wishes for now is a home of his own.
