An Octogenarian

Of his travels he has many stories to tell
Of his better years when he was feeling well
When he worked on building sites in many a big town
Back in the days when his hair was light brown

Never had children or a long term partner or wife
But had many affairs in his younger years in life
But time on the fittest and strongest eventually takes it's toll
This is something that is beyond human control

In his hometown in a home for the aged feeling and looking frail
Never more for to travel since his health him did fail
In a pub never more to socialize
That time is his foe now he has come to realize

An octogenarian in his younger years a nomadic fellow he will never travel again
Only the memories with him now remain
Of when he was younger a long time ago
Long before time it did become his foe.
