For her years quite attractive her shoulder length hair silver gray
In her room she sat on her chair with nothing to say
Octogenarians for near six decades they lived as man and wife
She used to love him and she was the love of his life
They raised two daughters and a son and are great grandparents today
They will be married fifty nine years on the fourteenth of May
He visits her often three or four times a week
Yet he does all of the talking to him she does not speak
Without any sign of recognition of him in her brown eyes
Those with loss of memory to those who are close to them sadness to does give rise
He brought her flowers and he hugged her and kissed her on Valentine's day
But she did not respond to him in any way.
