And the warm air full of the buzzing of bush flies and bees
Blowing across the dry countryside looking bare and brown
Above the sunlit streets of the old Moyne Shire Town
In the park dragon flies and white butterflies in the sunlight
Flying in the sky makes for a beautiful sight
The dry and flat countryside aroundMortlake of rain is in need
For the twenty eight day of February the last day of Summer it is warm indeed
With the temperature soaring to a warm thirty nine
It is not even cool in the shade out of the sunshine
The water dams near empty and bone dry every drain
And the Moyne Shire countryside is in need of some rain
With the sun on their dark wings chirping as they fly
The welcome swallows chase flying insects in the sky.
