The Asylum Seekers Friend

Nelson Mandela as a person and a political leader was a true great
But he is no longer living for to celebrate
And apart from Angela Merkel who deserves to be held in high esteem
Not many others deserve to be rated is how it does seem
So many World political leaders have been a let down
They are only interested in power and their own renown
People they cannot unite behind them since they only know how to divide
Good political leaders are rare now as they always were Worldwide
The poor and the hungry and the Stateless are under attack
From governments that in any empathy sadly does lack
Not many compassionate leaders in the Human World of today
And this seems a very sad thing for to say
Apart from Angela Merkel the asylum seekers friend
And sadly her political career is coming to an end.
