On Pee Wees

Medium sized birds one does see every  day
Pee wee pee wee is all they have to say
Black and white birds also known as mudlark or magpie lark
Often seen in backyards, country paddocks or town park

Whilst searching for insects on the ground
They bob their head as they walk around
And raise their wings as they sing pee wee
These familiar birds to many and to me

Species of a mud nest building race
The female distinguishable  from the male in that she has more white on her face
She lay pink spotted eggs of five or four or three
In cup shaped nest of mud high on a fork of tree

Birds known and loved by people Australia wide
In town parks, backyards and in the countryside
Familiar in their appearance and their song
You hear and see them once you never again get them wrong
