Birds that are not plentiful and one does not see every day
And quite wary of humans of them one can say
White cheeks with pink, green, mottled dark and yellow plumage and unders of gold
Quite beautiful parrots for to behold
Eastern rosellas for them an often used name
To be quite recognizable from most other parrots one of their claims to fame
In a tree cavity or a standing stump the female bird lay
Four to seven eggs of white to pale grey
Once seen mental images of them you retain
They are birds you will know when you see them again
Though they seem rather restless when humans to them are near
Their distinctive soft chirping is quite pleasant to hear
Though they are not plentiful of them one can say
They are among the most beautiful of parrots in south eastern Australia today.
