Nature She Said To The Turnstone

Nature she said to the Turnstone soon for you it will be your departure day
For your journey home to the Arctic in distance from here far away
For the survival of your genes by the southern sea you cannot stay
You will have your partner to help you to brood to life the eggs you lay

Nature whispers to the turnstone Spring to the far north is near
Though in the southern beaches it is warm in late February in the late Summer of the year
And the turnstone she does pay heed to what Nature to her does say
She must soon fly home to the Arctic so her young will be born by May

Of the turnstone and her companions a long journey home of them ahead
A journey often undertaken by her parents who on Earth's bosom lay dead
If you are born to life as a turnstone you too have decisions to make
For the survival of your genes dangerous long journeys you must undertake

The turnstone strong and fit for her journey soon she will take to the sky
And with her homebound companions above many Countries will fly
On their journey to breed in the far north they will stop at beaches on the way
To eat and to rest their tired wings and take a break from flying for a day

Nature she said to the turnstone Spring to the far north will soon arrive
You must fly home with your companions if you want your genes for to survive
And the turnstone as a child of Nature what Nature tells her to do she will obey
And with her migratory companions she will fly home to the Arctic far away.
